Computer Memory Definition
A computer memory is a device capable of storing information or data permanently or temporary. All the software programs, files, folders, images etc are stored in a memory of a computer system. Computer memory can be volatile or non-volatile in nature.
The memory devices with large storage space are cheaper and has slower speeds than the physical memory devices with less storage and faster read and write (wr) speed.
Types of computer memory:
- Registers
- Cache Memory
- Primary Memory / Main Memory (RAM)
- Secondary Memory (HDD, SSD, Flash Drives etc)
