The Full form of PCI is Peripheral component interconnect. The PCI Bus was developed by Intel, in June 22, 1992. It is a local computer bus for attaching or connecting hardware devices in a computer. It can operate either a 32-bit or 64-bit data bus. It is parallel bus and synchronous to single bus clock. The conventional PCI bus operates at 33MHZ and offers 133 MB/s transfer rate. The modern PCI bus operates at 66MHz and offers 528MB/s data transfer speed.
