RAID System

RAID System Definition

The Raid stands for Redundant Arrays of Independent Disk.  In simple English, the RAID system is a set of multiple disk drives. Although there are multiple disk drives but the Operating system views it as a single logical drive.  It is used to remove data redundancy, reliability or performance improvement.

The same information can also be stored on additional disk unit, which improves the reliability and eliminates the risk of data loss. All the Hard disk drives or SSDs operate in parallel. We can also store large files into different drives by splitting them into different parts known as Data Stripping.
