Volatile memory

The type of memory which loses the data contained in it after the computer system is power off is called as Volatile memory. It changes rapidly unlike the non-volatile storage which is used for storing the data for long-term or permanently. The data in computer’s RAM (random access memory) is maintained only till the device is powered ON.
