The type of memory which doesn’t volatile or lose the data contained in it after the computer is shut down (power off) is known as Non-volatile memory. It is also known as permanent memory. Secondary storage is non-volatile memory unlike the RAM, which is volatile in nature.

Examples of NonVolatile memory are HDD (Hard Disk drives), SSD, Flash memory etc.
