Nikon 1 AW1 camera, the World’s 1st waterproof camera with interchangeable lenses

Nikon has officially announced its latest advanced camera, the Nikon AW1. It is the world’s first digital camera with interchangeable lenses and that can be used underwater. So this the new waterproof, shockproof camera from the company. The company has also announced the underwater Speedlight (SB-N10) for Nikon 1 cameras. It would compete with recently launched Fujifilm X A1.

The Nikon 1 AW1 comes with 14.2 megapixel CMOS image sensor (CX format) and EXPEED 3A image processing engine. It takes SD (Secure Digital), SDHC, and SDXC type memory cards. The CAM is capable of recording full HD 1080p videos at 30fps in H.264 / MPEG-4 format. It has built in stereo microphone with adjustable sensitivity, GPS, WU-1b wireless mobile adapter, Pop-up Flash (i-TTL flash control), C mini-pin HDMI connector and high speed USB connectivity. It offers maximum ISO sensitivity up to 6400. The camera also features the Action control and can record slow motion videos at 400fps / 1200fps. It is compatible with NIKKOR AW 10mm f/2.8 lens and 1 NIKKOR AW 11-27.5mm f/3.5-5.6 lens. Check you Sample images of AW-1. The look and design of the camera seems to be robust. The AW1 rugged camera comes in black, silver and white. The Price of the camera with single-lens kit is $800 and with double-lens kit for $1000.
